Vintage Limoges Trinket Box, Blue Lattice & Rose, Gilt & Brass

There's a box on every dresser that's too small for anything important and gets used for exactly that, a ring taken off before the dishes, a note nobody was supposed to keep, a button off a coat that mattered.

This one's done that work already. Blue lattice, a rose in every diamond, gold at every seam. Maybe it held a pair of cufflinks on a chest of drawers no child was allowed to touch. Maybe it came home in someone's coat pocket from a trip they still talk about. Maybe it kept a ring safe through thirty years of gardening, taken off each morning and put back each night.
