Vintage Gilt Overmantel Mirror, Laurel Wreath & Acanthus

An old mirror over a mantel ends up a witness. It doesn't do much, but it's caught every year's tree, every dinner party, every kid who grew a foot since the last time anyone measured against the mantel.

This one's built for that job. Gilded, a laurel wreath and ribbon at the crest, acanthus scrolling into the corners the way old mirrors always seem to. Maybe it hung over a fireplace that got used every winter. Maybe it caught fifty years of a family walking past it without looking. Maybe it's the mirror that made a small room feel like it had another window.

It doesn't just reflect a room. It gives a room a memory of its own.
