The covered candy dish lived on a side table and held the good candy — the kind grandparents kept, that tasted a little of the cabinet it came from.
This Portuguese one is porcelain, round and domed, hand-painted with pink roses, blue bows, and gold scrollwork, a little ceramic rose for a finial. About 5" across. For candy, or for the small things a dish quietly keeps.
