Pair of Staffordshire-Style Spaniel Spill Vases — Ceramic Wally Dogs

A charming pair of Staffordshire-style spaniel spill vases, made in the tradition of the 19th-century English mantel dogs that once flanked every proper parlor. Each seated spaniel wears a gilded collar and bell, hand-glazed in warm cream with a chintz-painted floral spill cone rising behind, the deep red interiors meant to hold paper spills, dried stems, or nothing at all.

These are affectionate reproductions (marked Made in China underneath), not period antiques, which means you get the look and character of a matched Staffordshire pair without the four-figure price. They're a proper facing pair, one dog turned left and one right, the way they were always meant to sit: bookending a shelf, a mantel, or a stack of well-loved novels.

Sold as a pair. Please see photos for detail; minor glaze crazing is consistent with the style. 11.5" Tall

Each piece is vintage or antique and has lived a life before finding its way to Tallmadge Ave; natural signs of age, wear, patina, and imperfections are part of its character and are to be expected. All pieces are sold as-is, and any notable condition issues are described in the product listing. That said, if it arrives damaged or isn't as described, we'll refund you in full, including shipping — since each piece is one of a kind, we can't simply send a replacement. Otherwise, returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Questions any time at christine@tallmadgeave.com — we're a two-person shop, and we answer.
