Patti McCarthy Seated Terrier, Original Oil on Florentine Board, 7" x 10"

A terrier doesn’t sit because you asked. He sits because he decided to, and he stays exactly as long as it suits him.

This one has held a pose before. Maybe on the back step while somebody looked for the leash. Maybe on the good chair he wasn’t supposed to be on. Maybe at the front window, the hour before the car came up the drive.

It doesn’t just show a terrier sitting. It shows him deciding to.

Seated Terrier, Original Oil on Shaped Florentine Board. Signed lower right, P. McCarthy. Cream ground, gilt borders, gilt cartouche and rosette. 7" x 10".

Condition: a small chip to the gilt at the bottom edge of the board, shown in the close-up photo. The painting itself is unaffected.

For the dog who has never once come when called. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage

Patti often paints on old Florentine boards and plaques, and her work comes in vintage frames, so natural signs of age, wear and patina are part of each piece's character and are to be expected. All pieces are sold as-is, and any notable condition issues are described in the product listing. That said, if it arrives damaged or isn't as described, we'll refund you in full, including shipping — since each piece is one of a kind, we can't simply send a replacement. Otherwise, returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Questions any time at christine@tallmadgeave.com — we're a two-person shop, and we answer.
