The good bird dogs go still before anyone else knows why. Tail straight out, nose into the wind, and everyone behind him stops talking.
This one has stood like that before. Maybe on a cold October morning along the edge of a marsh. Maybe beside a man in a waxed coat who’d walked that same ground since he was a boy. Maybe late in the day, when the grass went gold and nobody wanted to call it.
It doesn’t just show a pointer in a field. It shows the one second everybody in the field agreed on.
Pointer in the Marsh, Original Oil on Shaped Florentine Board. Signed lower right, P. McCarthy. Greek key borders, gilt rosettes, gilt edge. 12" x 17".
For the one who still walks that field in his head every October. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage
