Pat McCarthy Corgi Portrait, Oil on Florentine Board, 8” x 8”, Antique Gilt Frame

An oil painting on Florentine board by Pat McCarthy, depicting a corgi seated on a dark wood chest, a swag of red fabric draped beside it, set against a shadowed interior with a glimpse of doorway behind. Loose, confident brushwork in warm ochres and whites against a near-black ground gives the dog real presence, alert, watchful, caught mid-glance. Signed “P. McCarthy” lower left.

The board measures 8” x 8” and is set in an ornate Florentine-style frame, gilt wood with a scrolling gesso pattern in cream and gold, a scalloped outer edge, and a decorative gilt finial at the top. The frame is period in feel, hand-finished, and adds significant presence beyond the painted surface itself.
