This one's caught that exact moment. Cheltenham's parade ring, 1951, painted by Lindor Edwards with the grandstand rising behind the hills. Maybe it hung in a study that already had three other racing prints. Maybe it went up the year someone's horse actually ran there. Maybe it's just been reminding someone, for seventy-odd years, of a day at the races that never really ended.

It doesn't just show a race that hasn't started. It holds the whole feeling of waiting for one.
