Vintage Folk Art Wooden Horse Sculpture on Black Plinth

A striking vintage wooden horse sculpture with a wonderfully primitive, folk-art character. Hand-carved in a simple, stylized form, the horse features a strong architectural silhouette, elongated legs, angular head, sculptural tail, and substantial block-like body.

The warm brown wood has developed a beautifully weathered surface with visible grain, cracks, scratches, tool marks, worn edges, and remnants of an older light-colored finish. The intentionally distressed surface gives the piece considerable character and a sense of age. It is mounted on a contemporary-style matte black rectangular plinth, creating an appealing contrast between the aged wood and modern presentation.

At approximately 28 inches tall, this is a substantial decorative sculpture that works beautifully as a statement piece on a large mantel, console, entryway, library, or collected interior. 28" x 24"
