Patti McCarthy Dachshund on Blue, Original Oil on Florentine Board, 8" x 6"

A dachshund looks at you like you owe him something, and usually you do. A walk, a crust, the end of the sofa you were about to sit on.

This one has given that look before. Maybe from the kitchen doorway while the roast came out. Maybe from the bottom of the stairs, too low and too dignified to climb them. Maybe from the back seat, the whole way home.

It doesn’t just show a dachshund. It shows the look you always gave in to.

Dachshund on Blue, Original Oil on Florentine Board. Signed lower right, P. McCarthy. Soft blue ground, gilt rope border, cream surround, gilt edge. 8" x 6".

Condition: light age wear to the cream surround, including a fine hairline in the finish at the left side. The painting itself is clean.

For the one who knows exactly whose dog it really is. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage

Patti often paints on old Florentine boards and plaques, and her work comes in vintage frames, so natural signs of age, wear and patina are part of each piece's character and are to be expected. All pieces are sold as-is, and any notable condition issues are described in the product listing. That said, if it arrives damaged or isn't as described, we'll refund you in full, including shipping — since each piece is one of a kind, we can't simply send a replacement. Otherwise, returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Questions any time at christine@tallmadgeave.com — we're a two-person shop, and we answer.
