Pat McCarthy Setter with Pheasant Oil Painting, Gilt Lace-Border Frame

A liver-and-white setter holds a pheasant mid-retrieve, one wing still catching the light against a dark tree line. Signed P. McCarthy, lower right, the same hand behind our bunny paintings, here turned from the warren to the sporting field. The frame carries a raised lace border and worn gilt corners, set on its own brass easel feet, so it stands on a desk or a mantel without another frame to find. Small enough for a bookshelf.
