L.E. Smith Black Amethyst Glass Trophy Vase, Two Handles, Square Rim, 7"

The rim on this one is pinched into four soft points, so from above it reads as a square with the corners pushed in. From the side it's a little trophy, two handles and a footed stem, in L.E. Smith's black amethyst glass. Put it in a window and the black turns a deep plum.

This one has a smaller, tidier presence than most vases. Maybe three tulips cut short. Maybe a handful of pens on a desk that deserves better. Maybe a single branch of bittersweet in November, leaning out over one of the handles.

It doesn't just hold a few stems. It gives a shelf one shape that stops the eye.

Trophy Vase, L.E. Smith Glass, black amethyst. Two-handled footed form with a four-point square rim. 7" tall.

For the shelf that's all books and needs one dark note. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage
