L.E. Smith Black Amethyst Glass Trophy Vase, Two Handles, Ruffled Rim, 8"

Black glass that isn't really black. Hold this L.E. Smith vase up to a window and the color gives itself away: a deep plum, the reason they called it black amethyst. On the table it just reads as ink, glossy and serious, with a ruffled rim that softens the whole thing.

This one has the shape of an old loving cup. Two handles, a slim footed stem, a body that opens up like a tulip. Maybe a few stems of white ranunculus. Maybe dried hydrangea through the winter. Maybe nothing at all, just a dark shape on a pale mantel.

It doesn't just hold flowers. It makes whatever's next to it look a little more deliberate.

Trophy Vase, L.E. Smith Glass, black amethyst. Two-handled footed form with a ruffled rim. 8" tall.

For the mantel that needs one dark note. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage
