Terrier on the Step, Rectangular Florentine Board, Signed P. McCarthy

Every house with a dog in it has had this exact moment: the one who claims the step and won't be moved off it, paws crossed like he's got somewhere to be and nowhere better than here.

This one has held that spot before. Maybe watching for the mail truck. Maybe for a school bus that ran late on Fridays. Maybe just for the sound of a car in the driveway that meant the house was about to be full again.

It doesn't just show a terrier on a stoop. It shows the watch nobody asked him to keep.

Terrier on the Step, Original Oil on Rectangular Florentine Board. Signed lower right, P. McCarthy. Gilt edge, incised acanthus ground. 6.5" x 8.5".

For the one who was always on duty, whether you noticed or not. #followthefeeling @tallmadge_ave_vintage

Each piece is vintage or antique and has lived a life before finding its way to Tallmadge Ave; natural signs of age, wear, patina, and imperfections are part of its character and are to be expected. All pieces are sold as-is, and any notable condition issues are described in the product listing. That said, if it arrives damaged or isn't as described, we'll refund you in full, including shipping — since each piece is one of a kind, we can't simply send a replacement.
