Some rooms get their own late-afternoon light, a fire lit early, everything in them going brass and orange.

This pair of brass ducks could've held a taper on a mantel for years, one at each end, for whoever came down first. Maybe in a lake house. Maybe in a den that smelled like woodsmoke and coffee. Maybe on a windowsill that looked out at real ducks on real water.

They don't just hold a candle each. They turn a mantel into its own small pond, two ducks that never have to leave.
