The painting is surrounded by an exceptional antique-style frame in distressed ivory and aged gilt, with elaborate scrolling foliage, beaded borders, and beautifully weathered patina.

We love the juxtaposition of the somewhat formal, highly decorative frame with the wonderfully soulful expression of the dog. It feels equally at home in a collected New York apartment, a country house library, or tucked into a gallery wall of vintage animal portraits.

Artist: Pat McCarthy
Subject: Spaniel
Medium: Oil on board. 16" x 13"
Frame: Distressed painted and gilt wood
Condition: Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and patina

Please note: the piece retains the character and imperfections of its age, including areas of wear to the painted and gilt finish.
